We are currently accepting donations to start operations Programs and Services Outlined Individual Scholarship Program for Children to Receive Diagnostic and Support Services Diagnostic, Speech, Occupational Therapy, Behavior, Arts and other scholarships to help pay for services. (This program is based on a sliding income scale and early intervention as a priority) Be My Buddy - Social Play/Life Skills Development Program in Partnership with The Lovaas Center/P.A.L.S (This is a new pilot program that is filled and will be open to additional applicants when new funding is secured) Children on the Autism Spectrum ages 6-12 will be given an opportunity to gain much needed skills and learn how to interact with peers in a nurturing environment. The teaching of social skills, peer play skills, group activities, and life skills will provide independence and freedom for children affected with autism which will be the catalyst to their future success in their adult lives, ultimately creating future independence and success in relationships, the workplace, and the community, hence leading to an overall better quality of life. Parents will also gain the necessary skills to accelerate their child’s development for a better quality of life. (This program is based on a point system that a will benefit the lower socio-economic families, the unemployed and those coming from single-parent households as a priority) Sibling Social Support Group in Partnership with PALS (Partners for Autonomy Life Skills) (Any Sibling of a child with autism included) This program is designed for 5th-12th grade typically developing siblings of children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This group meets bi-monthly and serves as a support system and learning experience to improve the well being of these siblings. We also incorporate social outings like bowling, miniature golf, movie night and other fun activities into the program. Program objectives that will be addressed: Community Inclusion Outings – Lied Discovery Children’s Museum and Others We have quarterly family outings to help any family living with autism feel comfortable in public settings, while creating autism awareness in our community settings. Our first event at Autism Classroom Back to Grant a Gift is helping 80 schools (61 at-risk) with Autism programs by matching them with local businesses to raise school supplies and funds.
